New York City is one of the top tourist destinations in the world. It is a metropolis that has a beautiful skyline, many tall and fascinating buildings, plus attractions like the Statue of Liberty and Central Park. Tourists also come to New York City to see museums like the MET and the MoMa or to shop on Fifth Avenue and see M&M World, as well as for the city’s historical importance. When you come in the summer time to New York you will find that visiting these different places can be somewhat more pleasant thanks to warmer temperatures. You can walk the streets of downtown Manhattan from your New York hotel until Rockefeller Center and enjoy every step. There will also be high temperatures at the peak of summer and that can be somewhat less pleasant, but thank goodness for A/C. Summer Time in New York means enjoying Central Park by having a nice picnic with your friends or family, or attending one of the live concerts they hold there, and taking a bike tour of New York. You can also attend the renowned Macy’s 4th of July fireworks show or go to one of the many city outdoor festivals that are held on major streets in New York. Travelers to New York should also take advantage of sunny days to take a boat tour of the bay area. No matter what summer month you find yourself in New York, you are sure to find numerous outdoor events to attend and some if not at least half of them will be for free. If you weren’t able to check on specific events for the time of your visit your New York hotel concierge is sure to know.
