The St Pancras Renaissance Hotel has officially re-opened following a £150 million refurbishment and month-long soft opening period. Guests can relive the grandeur of the Victorian era at the former railway hotel, which has plenty of nods to its history including The Booking Office bar and restaurant (located in the original ticket office), The Ladies Smoking Room (the first place in Europe where women were allowed to smoke in public) and the famous sweeping staircase (featured in the Spice Girls’ Wannabe video). The 245 bedroom hotel officially opened on 5 May 2011, 138 years to the day of its original opening.
